TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Skilled personnel are the most important asset of any organization. As companies seek to do more with less and to make fewer personnel more productive, the need for training and professional development is critical.
Toigo Partners International has responded to this requirement with a growing set of training programs, available for delivery both via the web and on-site, for clients who need them. |
Our current offerings include the Certified Data Management ProfessionalSM (CDMPSM) program and the Certified Data Protection SpecialistSM (CDPSSM) program. To date, over 600 persons have been trained and certified under these programs on four continents. They are core offerings of the Data Management Institute, which was formed by TPI in 2003.
DEVELOPED TO ADDRESS REAL REQUIREMENTS
| TPI Training is developed using Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodology, which begins with careful analysis of lesson content objectives and preexisting trainee skills and knowledge. We then proceed to design the lessons themselves, which are organized by learning objectives and feature presentation modalities geared to the requirements of adult learners. Testing is used as a mechanism for confirming effective content delivery and for refining lesson content over time.
Our guiding principle is to make sure that every lesson is relevant to the work that the trainee must perform. Content is tailored to the client and is checked every step of the way to ensure that it fits client requirements. |

Training can be administered by TPI (or the Data Management Institute) directly on the client premises, via the web, or as part of scheduled TPI/DMI events. We have also licensed content to partners for delivery as part of their curriculum, particularly in non-English-speaking geographies.

DMI AND PARTNERS
The Data Management Institute was founded by TPI to provide a virtual community for those who manage data and storage infrastructure for organizations worldwide.
In addition to offering training and professional development opportunities to members, DMI also provides an outlet for TPI newsletters, white papers and test reports. Most importantly, DMI provides a mechanism for growing the professional identity and recognition of storage and data management as a discipline within the field of IT. | DMI courseware is also available to our international partners for classroom-based delivery to their clients. TPI can provide instructors or train our partners' own training professionals to deliver and administer our training and certification programs.
It is worth noting that DMI training, unlike other programs in this area, is completely vendor agnostic. We teach concepts and strategies that are not tied to any particular vendor's products or architecture and that, instead, reflect the heterogeneous environments that exist in most consumer shops. If you want product specific training, check with your vendors; if you want a practical, no-nonsense training regime that will help your clients to develop the type of critical thinking processes that will be required to cope with real world storage planning requirements, DMI training is for you.
